PT Sarana Abadi Makmur Bersama (SAMB)
Established the React frontend standards and CI/CD pipelines and built core microservices (Sales Order, Shipment, Master Data, Settlement) with Go and Echo — while doubling as UI/UX designer at the CTO's request.
As a mid-level Software Engineer at PT Sarana Abadi Makmur Bersama (SAMB), I set the frontend engineering standards, built core microservices from zero to production, and — at the CTO's request — doubled as the company's UI/UX and graphic designer.
About This Role
The role combined platform ownership with hands-on delivery: establishing how the React frontend should be structured across the team, standing up CI/CD for microservices, and building several business-critical services on Go.
What I Faced
The team needed consistency and maintainability across a growing React codebase, plus reliable delivery for brand-new services being built from scratch — all while product also needed design work that no dedicated designer was covering.
How I Approached It
I built and owned the frontend standardization — component structure, architecture, code conventions, and usage guides — set up CI/CD for the microservices, and delivered core backend services with Go (Echo) and MySQL, while designing web/mobile interfaces and corporate visuals in Figma.
What I Did
Frontend Standardization
Built and owned the React frontend standard — component structure, architecture, conventions, and usage guides — lifting team consistency and maintainability.
Zero to Production
Helped build applications from scratch to production, establishing and managing CI/CD for microservices and streamlining build, test, and deploy flows.
Core Services
Developed and maintained core services: Sales Order, Shipment, Master Data, and Settlement.
Frontend & Backend Build
Built responsive, maintainable UIs with React.js, Tailwind, MUI, and Shadcn UI, and backend services with Go (Echo Framework) and MySQL.
UI/UX & Graphic Design
At the CTO's direct request, doubled as UI/UX and graphic designer for web/mobile interfaces and corporate visuals.
Under the Hood
React.js, Refine.js, Tailwind CSS, MUI, Shadcn UI.
Go with the Echo Framework, MySQL, and Keycloak for auth.
Figma, GitHub, Redmine, Harbor, and CI/CD for microservices.
Impact & Outcomes
Established a frontend standard that improved team-wide consistency and maintainability.
Delivered multiple core services (Sales Order, Shipment, Master Data, Settlement) to production.
Bridged engineering and design, covering UI/UX and corporate visuals in addition to code.
Projects from This Experience
What I Learned
Setting standards is engineering too — a shared frontend convention scaled the whole team's output, and wearing the designer hat made me a better collaborator with product.
